Critical Thinking Skills for Academic Success

Critical thinking is something that gets buried under layers of academic learning and at times is overlooked in the elementary and middle school. Thus, high school students lack the skills related to perspectives, analysis, paradigms and the ability to express one’s viewpoint without any bias.

The course is designed to help students to start building critical thinking abilities. This will help them with decision making in the future, as well as showcase to college admission officials that the student has an ability to understand diverse perspectives and detect bias.

This course will help students

  • Understand the logical connections between various ideas and interpretive nature of knowledge, integrated approach in learning

  • Identify, construct and evaluate arguments from multiple perspectives

  • Detect inconsistencies and common mistakes in reasoning and understand the bias within

  • Solve problems systematically- Developing System Thinking for a Glocal world

  • Identify the relevance and importance of ideas for deeper learning

  • Reflect on the justification of one's own beliefs to become an aware thinker
